TYPE inspiration
I was taking my font choice inspiration from cookbooks of the 50s, being that I am doing a rockabilly/ indie/ urban outfitters style cooking magazine. Does anyone have an ideas about how to do this, but make it fresh? There were some questions about my font choices for my department section-- next post down. Thanks!
THere are these massive boos out there with ads of the 50's 40's etc. you should take a look at them if only for the 50's kind of cadence. Type rhythm, scale kinds of type faces. Taschen has lots of period books with great imagery

and so does Phaidon. Check them out at B&N, no need to buy.
